Quick Background Stamping

Good morning, all!

I’ve always enjoyed stamping my own backgrounds for my cards and today I will share a quick way that you can use to make your own customized backgrounds.

The stamp set that I am using for today’s project is from Simon Says Stamp and it is called Wild Beauty. It has all these small flowers, both the outline and the solid stamps and what is great about this set is that you can color the flowers either by using your inks and the coordinating stamp or simply stamp the outlines and color with your preferred coloring medium. So versatile!

I picked out some of the flowers and arranged them onto a long acrylic block. I then started stamping at an angle and repeated the same process untill I had all my background filled. I also flipped the block and stamped the flowers upside down, just to add a bit of movement to my pattern. By using this method you can save up a lot of time and just get the right positioning of the elements you are using within seconds, without worrying that you’re not going to display the stamps and fill in the spaces as you wish.

Once I had all the flowers stamped, I used the solid stamps and my inks to color them up.

I am pretty excited today, as I managed to swatch my inks and I have to admit that this was the best organizing step that I ever did for my supplies. For this card it took me seconds to pull out the inks that matched without having to stamp on scraps to see which color goes with each color. I used to waste a lot of time before, by trying to match the right colors and often I just gave up using colored inks. Now I know I will use them more, as it is so much easy with having them all swatched! 🙂

20160715_134507Next I used the SSS Smile die to cut a window at the center of my card and glued a pink punched circle at the back. I then used the Smile die cut to layer it on top of the die cut window. The two little banners on my card were cut using a die from Studio Calico that I have since like forever and used one of the greetings from the stamp set on one of the banners.

For my card base I picked the kraft Neenah cardstock and to finish all off, I just added a bit of twine on the edge of the card and tied it into a bow.

20160715_030133I had so much fun creating this background and will for sure make more of these with different colored inks. Now I will enjoy my inks so much more, lol!:)

Floral Pattern / Clean & Simple

Hi all!

There’s a beautiful sunny day here in Rome and everything in my garden started blooming! yay! So that inspired me to make a floral card for today.

20150606_103443

I used the same stamp set from yesterday when I made the watercolor card. I like to make several cards with the new stamp sets that I get, otherwise I will put them aside and forget about them. It happened so many times so I decided to use any stamp set as much as I can before switching to a new one. Therefore if you see cards using the same stamp set now you know the reason why:)

20150606_103426

So I started this project by masking the bottom side of the card with some painter’s tape so that I could concentrate my layout only to the top of the card. I chose some inks that go well together and stamped the outline of the roses with a darker ink and the center with a lighter ink. To avoid overlaying the flowers I created some masks out of a sticky note sheet.

Once I finished stamping all my flowers & leaves, I added a thin strip of cardstock to separate the pattern from the rest of the card and stamped my sentiment with a black ink. I also added a small cute bow there and a bit of shimmer to the flowers.

This was my card for today, for any questions, please leave me a comment down below. Thank you all for being here:)

Create a Card with One Stamp Set Only Day 4

…and how I shoot my videos:)

Hello!

Actually today is ”make 3 cards with one stamp set”, lol:) I chose a Hero Arts & Basic Grey stamp set and made 3 quick cards. I’m sure that I will do more as while I was working with this set, I realized it is pretty awesome and versatile.

Here is the stamp set called RSVP.

I used the cute party hat stamp to create a fun background on 2 of my cards. The small stamps are always perfect for this technique and you can have a lot of fun experimenting with them:)

The Wish Big sentiments are embossed with silver powder and I die cut them using a circle die. You can see all the steps in the video, btw 🙂

For my 3rd card, I kept it all more simple and added a bit of interest with some strips of colored cardstock and sequins. Also I used the masking technique to stamp the balloons and banners.

Here is a list of the supplies I used. I hope you found some inspiration and will give it a try to challenge yourself by using one stamp set to create a card..or even more, hihi 🙂

In the video I mentioned that I will show you how I record my videos. I don’t have any expensive video camera and tripods or other stuff like that, I just use the ”stick” that people use for making selfies:)) Here is a photo of how I ”installed” mine to shoot my tutorials, lol! Now to make the stick stay down into my box there, I just placed some heavy notebooks at the bottom of the stick, right on top, and this way it won’t move when I mount my phone on.

These are extendable also so they are perfect for how I use them and they don’t cost much either. I will put some links below so you can check them out if you want.

Flower Wreath & Stamping on Acetate

Hello, crafters!

I took a break from work for a quick post and share my card with you:) I’ve always liked floral wreaths on cards, but I never took the time to try and make one, lol.

So for today’s card I chose 2 stamp sets that I hardly use and luckily I have the matching dies also, and that made all so much easy.

I first die cut a circle on the front of my card and after stamping all the flowers and leaves, I adhered them following the circle outline. I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of acetate with black StazOn and adhered it to the back of the front panel.

Very simple & so so lovely:)

Happy Sunday everyone and thx for dropping by!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hello again!

As I am a big big fan of Simon Says Stamp products and blog, I couldn’t miss the wonderful challenge that they have going on this week. This time the theme is Color Combo and look what a beautiful pallete they chose.

Here is what I came up with 😛

I stamped the background with a border stamp from one of their previous stamp sets and used the SSS dye inks. When I saw the colors, I knew I had the matching inks and was so thrilled to put them all together:)

The yummy ice cream is white embossed and colored with the same inks I used for the background. Of course, to make it look more ”tasty” I added a bit of sparkle with my stickles. I then layered 2 circle dies and cut out that frame from a piece of cardstock that I inked with the Mint ink.

Create a Card with One Stamp Set Only Day 1

Hello!

I’ve always wanted to challenge myself to use one stamp set only for making a card, so while I was organizing my stamps the other day I pulled out some sets that I barely use and decided to experiment with those:)

Today’s card features an old stamp set from Simon Says Stamp that is called Giving Thanks. I believe this was one of my first stamp sets I ever bought from them and I used it just 2 or 3 times.

And here is my card:)

20150513_192805

To stamp my tree I used one of my favorite brown inks, that’s the ArtPrint Brown Hero Hues and for all those cute flowers I used some lovely dye inks by SSS. I have a new favorite color and that is Hot Lips! I looove it, it is like a pink-red-coral color, very very beautiful!

20150512_181356

I decorated my card base by stamping and embossing the leaves that are in this set. I used a shiny pearly powder from WOW. (I will have all the supplies listed at the end of the video.) I can’t tell you how much I like this powder. Although in the beggining I was dissapointed, as the name says Pearl White, I was expecting a white powder but when it sets this turns into a pearly white and has nothing to do with the regular white. It is more like the Perfect Pearls. Anyhow, I really really like it now and it adds a great touch of elegance to paper, it is pretty awesome!

I mounted the panel with some craft foam and also covered the flowers with the Wink of Stella, of course! Can’t do nothing about it, it is addictive, lol!

Here is the video and also the list of the supplies I used. For a better resolution you can click on the wheel in the video bar and set it to 480 🙂

I encourage you all to search your stash for old forgotten stamps and use them in a new style and way:)

Thx for dropping by!
