Happy day! 🙂
I had some markers laying in my craft room for about a year now that I got for the lovely colors they had. I tried coloring with them onto regular paper and wanted to see if they blended, but they didn’t and if I went too much back and forth again and again, the paper started to tear off. And I was so sad because I really really liked the colors and was hoping to use them on my cards. But well, I gave up and and just put them aside.
Now today, I don’t know why or how, I picked them up and tried them on some watercolor paper, added water and ta-da! the color started to move around! You just can’t imagine the dance of joy that I made, haha! These were watercolor markers and I had no idea as I didn’t had the packaging anymore:) So now I am so excited to have a new alternative to watercoloring, and even though these are not professional markers, I still am going to use them onto my cards, at least for small images or when I need specific colors. The set I have has 24 gorgeous colors! And neither my Distress markers or my AquaBrush have these colors!
Ok, so moving on!:) I chose a new stamp set from Simon Says, called Baby Party Animals and I watercolored 3 of the creatures. I then cut them out with my scissors and created a circle window for my card.
I stamped more of the images from the set, like the gifts, the banner, a balloon, a lot of stuff in there as you can see. I really wanted a fun birthday card:)
To decorate my circle panel, I stamped the Birthday all across my card and adhere it down with fun foam for dimension. I couldn’t skip the shimmer and I used the Wink of Stella on every image there and also added glossy accents to the balloon and the party banner. A few sequins here and there and that finished my Birthday Card:)
I will put links to these markers down below, if you want to give them a try. The colors spread very smoothly with water and you don’t get any ugly lines of color:)
I’m adding my card to the SSS Wednesday Challenge and this time is all about favorite techniques and products. I love to watercolor and decorate my card with sequins so hopefully my card will fit perfectly in the gallery:)
Happy-happy, joy-joy, thank you all for your kind visit, I hope you enjoy (ed)! 🙂
Such a sweet and fun card ! I adore the images and the design !
