I first die cut  a panel out of some cream cardstock and for that I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies from Simon Says Stamp. Next I stamped all my images onto the die cut piece and I used the stamp set from Altenew called Vintage Roses. To add the old look to my paper I used the Vintage Photo Distress Ink and applied it gently with my blending tool.

This stamp set is gorgeous! It is a build-on stamp set and you can create such beautiful images by stamping the various parts one on top of eachother. Start by using your lightest color for the base and continue with darker shades of the same color. I will have all the inks that I used listed at the end of the post.

Onto the base of my card I used a lace stamp that I stamped with the Versamark and embossed it in gold. Lovely!:)

The finishing touches in creating a perfect shabby chic insipred project are some white pearls. You can also use rhinestones, buttons or brads. To me the white pearls are perfect.

Lately I am making a lot of vintage /shabby insipred items for my online shop and I can give you some tips in how you can achieve the perfect look of this style.

First thing is using the right paper. I’ve noticed that a cream cardstock works perfectly with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink. When I am using it with the cream colored paper, the final brown color that I obtain it has a warmer touch to it, than if I would use it with a white paper.

Second, the right color combination. Most of the times I use brown, pink, green and gold. To me this is the perfect color combo for the Shabby look.

Third, use lace or doilies. Either they are real lace and doilies or just stamps.

The last tip: embellishments. Use pearls, rhinestones, buttons or brads.

Here is the list of the supplies I used for this card. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and that you find it useful 🙂
